Gary Hancock
Pulaski

Gary Hancock, of Pulaski, is a managing partner in the law firm, Gilmer, Sadler, Ingram, Sutherland & Hutton, where he specializes in civil litigation, civil trials and appeals, insurance, administrative law and commercial litigation.  He has been associated with that law firm since 1977.

Gary is another familiar face to community colleges as a member of the New River Community College Board since 1995 and that board’s chair since 2002. He has also served as mayor of the Town of Pulaski and as a member of the Virginia Commission of Population Growth and Development.  He is a past president of the Pulaski County United Way and has been active in a number of other local civic organizations.

Mr. Hancock received a law degree from the University of Richmond and a bachelor’s degree from Madison College (now James Madison University).

He serves as chair of the State Board for the 2009-2010 year, as vice chair for the 2008-2009 year, and as liaison to New River Community College in Dublin and Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke.
