Mr. Jeffery K. Mitchell, of Blacksburg, is an attorney with LeClair Ryan, where his practice focuses primarily on corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments and emerging growth companies, which he advises on a wide range of issues.
He served on the staff of Governor Gerald L. Baliles focusing on economic development issues and has served as a key political advisor to many Virginia elected officials, including Governor Mark R. Warner.
Mr. Mitchell received a CPA certification in 1993, although he is not an actively practicing public accountant. He graduated with honors from the University of Richmond School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.
He is chairman of the Virginia Economic Bridge, a director and vice president of the Virginia Public Safety Foundation, director of the New Century Technology Council and director of the Blacksburg Country Club. He is also chapter advisor of Virginia Tech's Sigma Chi Chapter and is the 2007 co-national chapter advisor of the year for Sigma Chi Fraternity.
He serves as State Board Liaison to Southwest Virginia Community College and to Wytheville Community College.
