New Faculty Seminar Colleagues:
We are so excited about our upcoming New Faculty Seminar. It is always a good one, but this year’s promises to be especially exciting with Rita Smilkstein guest lecturing on “How the Brain Learns and Brain-Compatible Teaching."
Remember:
This meeting is free to all interested full time and adjunct faculty who have been with the VCCS for 12 months or less. You need to register online at least two weeks prior to the meeting. We will post and update the registrant directory on our website weekly, so check to make sure you are properly listed and find colleagues from your campus with whom you can carpool. Reimbursement for travel expenses including mileage and parking is at the discretion of you or your college. All meals are provided, including an evening reception and dinner with our new Vice Chancellor of Academic Services & Research, Susan Wood.
The VCCS will pay for one night’s lodging for any employee whose campus is 50 or more miles from the site of the meeting, plus the night before for those who must commute 200 or more miles to attend. You will be asked to provide a personal credit card to guarantee your reservation but will only be charged for incidentals and parking upon checkout. Be sure to notify the hotel if your plans change or you will be charged as a no-show.
