| Excellence in Education Award Finalists and Winning Projects |
The New Horizons Excellence in Education (EIE) awards acknowledge those who promote student success within the VCCS. Student success is enhanced by an array of strategies: pen and paper as well as mouse and keyboard, collaborative work, classroom assessments, and dynamic discussions prompted by thoughtful questions. All of these strategies, and others, can find a home and be celebrated in these awards.
Within the EIE awards there are three categories: 1) Best Practices in Teaching Face-to-Face, Online and Student Success, 2) Improving Student Success – Institutional, and 3) Innovative Use of Technology in the Face-to-Face and Online Classroom. This year we have 15 finalists selected from these categories.
Finalists will present their projects to the EIE panel of judges on Wednesday (3/21) from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom. Judging will be closed to the public. All are welcome to meet with the finalists and talk with them about their projects during the EIE reception on Wednesday (3/21) evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom. Winners will be announced at our EIE awards banquet on Thursday (3/22) evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Roanoke Ballroom.
