Education for a better job, a better life, a better future.

Giving to the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education

VFCCE_Logo

Providing access to education for all Virginians.

Working hand in hand with Virginia’s 23 Community Colleges, the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education seeks to guarantee financial assistance to all students who dream of attending college.

The foundation is building an endowment that is already generating interest to provide full scholarships to selected community college students.

Donors are invited to endow a single scholarship in their name and designate it to any of Virginia’s Community Colleges or regions. Or, contribute to one of the existing scholarship funds, or to Great Expectations, the initiative to help foster youth obtain a postsecondary education.

Rural Virginia Horsehoe Initiative

Rural Horseshoe Map

The Virginia Foundation for Community College Education has launched the Rural Virginia Horseshoe Initiative to tackle the challenge of preparing people in the rural crescent for the jobs of the future.

One in four Virginians across parts of the Rural Horseshoe have less than a high school education - and this initiative, using programs and resources through 14 of Virginia's Community Colleges, seeks to change that.

Read more about the initiative in an op-ed published Feb. 24 in newspapers around the commonwealth. Or, browse the preliminary Case for Support.

Questions about the program should be sent to Dr. Jennifer Gentry, executive director of the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education, at (804) 819-4661 or jgentry@vccs.edu.

The VFCCE is currently recruiting for its third annual class of Valley Proteins Fellows!

See Valley Protein Fellows for more information; deadline is April 15.
