Development of Postsecondary Data Measures for Perkins IV

With the authorization of Perkins IV in 2006, USDOE issued further guidance on how states measure performance.  A copy of this guidance and other information related to Perkins IV is provided on the Peer Collaborative Resource Website

The following contains direct links to resource documents that can assist colleges with understanding Perkins IV and the related performance measures:

• Crosswalks for identifying nontraditional students, programs by cluster, etc.  Note:  this is based on the classification of instructional programs (CIP), which are assigned to VCCS degrees, diplomas, and certificates by SCHEV.  Career studies certificates do not have assigned CIP codes:

VCCS Activities Related to the Development of Perkins Performance Measures

In response to the development of the Perkins IV performance measures, VCCS will hold a series of conference calls with colleges to discuss the measures, received feedback, and develop metrics for measuring performance.   Upon completion of the calls, VCCS will present these findings to the Workforce Development Services and Academic and Student Services Advisory councils in the fall of 2008 and later to the college presidents.
